The synthetic material around the rim of the sole is the weakness I found with the shoe, I was planning/hoping to pass these down to our next kiddo once our eldest is finished with them, but I'm not sure they'll be in good enough shape to pass down as they already have wear on them and it's not even summer yet...

I would love an option to buy custom sole inserts for the shoes. As they are, there is not enough padding for my comfort level for walking on pavement. I added my own inserts and they now have the perfect amount of padding and flexibility.
