As a club that has been using matted training surfaces since 2002 it was very important to us to find exactly the correct and best possible fit for our purposes.
After an extensive search and comparing all available mats on the market, we made the decision to go with British Martial Arts mats.
Not only did their mats offer us the technical advancements that we needed as in Perfect density and high shore rating, along with the much sort after traditional “Tatami” finish, but also exactly the aesthetics we were after with a very light coloured Professional surface.
We are a club that utilities an extensive array of stand-up techniques from self-defence applications performed in a realistic pressure, testing environment and speed, along with ground submission fighting. It was imperative that we had a mat that covered all these areas.
In had to be firm enough to be used For realistic, stand-up, fighting, and absorbent enough to withstand the heavy throwing and ground fighting.
The 40 mm reversible grey/black tatami mats provide all of this and more.
On a sidenote
personally in my opinion, you can only truly judge a business by its ability to deal with adversity and unexpected circumstances. And although we had one or two small issues with the delivery process, that I must add was no fault of British Martial Arts mats themselves, (but a courier problem), *** dealt with this problem, not only swiftly but very professionally without any hesitation or argument at his end.
So in my opinion they have shown themselves to be, an immensely professional and trustworthy outfit in all areas, and not only one we would definitely be ordering from again in the future, but I’ve also one I’ve already recommended to a number of our colleagues in the industry.
