I'm a mom trying to invest her life long savings into gold for my retirement and my son's future. I know nothing about investing in gold other than I should buy it fast because the price is skyrocketing. Your staff did the worst job at guiding me through the process of providing evidence of where I got my money, closed my account and said the money would take 5 days to come back to my account. It's been a week, the money isn't back and I can't buy gold with you. Horrible service, I'm incredibly angry and the price of gold has of course gone up. If I could give you 0 stars I would.

You placed orders with us during August and, as part of our due diligence process, we contacted you on 18 August to request supporting documentation before we could approve your account. As you have seen, we take compliance and anti-money laundering obligations extremely seriously. As a company that protects clients' savings and handles significant sums on their behalf, robust due diligence is central to how we operate, and one of the reasons clients have trusted us for over two decades.

Whilst you provided some of the requested documentation promptly, we explained that the information was not sufficient for us to verify your account in line with our requirements. Following further requests over the subsequent days, you were unable to provide sufficient information to complete the necessary checks. As a result, we could not proceed with the orders and informed you of this on 31 August. Your funds were returned to your nominated bank account within our standard three-working-day processing timeframe.

It can be the case that from time to time, we require additional information or supporting documentation from our clients. Please be assured that you were treated no differently to any other new client under the same due diligence criteria. The standard we applied to your account is the same one regulated financial institutions are required to hold themselves to, and we make no exception to it regardless of the circumstances of an individual order.
